Anyone lucky enough reach the settlement of Lakka and decide to reach its beautiful port, will inevitably stumble upon Mandi’s. Mandi was born in England but has been a Paxos resident for the past 30 years. For the past two she has been running this unique family business, one of the most special places one can find on Paxos island.
Boasting one of the most affordable prices on the island, Mandi’s is among the best places on the island for one to enjoy an Ionian sunset. The view to the west is open for the better part of the horizon, with the woods of Paxos decorating the rest of the picture, completing the experience. Mandi’s enjoys the “luxury” of not being surrounded by sailing boats, leaving the view wide open for visitors to take in. Apart from the sunset, adding to the view is the old Lakka primary school, giving you peek into the island’s past. A wonderful small garden serves as a second possible place to sit, where it is not uncommon to have fortunate meetings with ducks taking a stroll around the neighborhood.
Mandi’s has a broad range of offerings, from coffee to beer, ouzo, and even hard liquor to finish your night off. With every order of drinks comes the respective “meze” to eat, demonstrating the warm hospitality of Ionian hosts.
Mandi’s kitchen is open for the duration of the day, ready to cover your culinary needs with various recipes from Spyros, certified cook, including an assortment of seafood (sardine, anchovies, tiddlers), a portion of zucchini, and their staple dish, beet root tzatziki. Mandi’s also takes orders for delivery.
Mandi’s is one of the favorite spots for locals, especially from Lakka. One will often come across companies of locals filling the place with life. Wi-Fi is freely available for customers.
