At the south of Paxos, and within a walking distance from the cliffs, you can find the petrified forest. In that area of the Ionian Sea there were volcanic activities. In special circumstances where the lava covers a forest and freezes very quickly, the molecules of the wood instead of burning chemical processes are converted into stone and main quartz. By diving into the point you will be able to admire the bottom of these petrified logs.
